14 Hospitalized in Florida Crashes

MIAMI — Thirty-two vehicles were involved in a crash Friday on the Florida Turnpike, which was shrouded in smoke from fires, and 14 persons were sent to hospitals, authorities said.
A 10-mile stretch of the highway was closed for 2 1/2 hours because of the accident and smoke from fires in the nearby Everglades. “Nobody knows who hit who. Nobody could see anything,†Metro-Dade Fire Department spokesman John Carroll said.
