Chapman to Play Dominguez Hills in Finale
Chapman College’s basketball team has a chance to finish the season with winning record and spoil the championship hopes of a conference contender at 7:30 tonight when it plays host to Cal State Dominguez Hills in the Hutton Sports Center.
Chapman, 4-9 in California Collegiate Athletic Assn. competition, has long been out of the running for a playoff berth but can finish 14-13 overall with a victory tonight.
Dominguez Hills (9-4, 19-8) lost last week’s first-place showdown with Cal State Northridge, but can earn a share of the title if it beats Chapman and Northridge loses its finale at Cal State Los Angeles. That would force a first-place tie among Dominguez Hills, Northridge and CSLA.
The teams first met Feb. 1 when the Toreros beat Chapman, 93-66.
