The Nation : Challenger Delayed Again

The launch of the space shuttle Challenger has been delayed for at least three additional days, and continued problems could jeopardize the space agency’s ambitious launch schedule for the rest of the year, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration said. The latest setback means the Challenger, with Sen Jake Garn (R-Utah) in the crew, will lift off from the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Fla., no earlier than March 7. That is more than two weeks past the original launch date of Feb. 20, and the delay will crowd the shuttle program down the line.
