Residents who put bulky items out for a special trash pickup last week--and who can still see them sitting there--should not depair, according to city officials. Response to the special collection was so overwhelming that 35% of the city’s homes, about 1,800, were missed as 11 trucks picked up a total of 150 tons of refuse. The city’s trash collector has scheduled another special pickup Saturday for the remaining trash.
