The death toll from weekend boating and swimming accidents along the Northern California coast climbed to 12 as officials recovered another body and called off the search for three missing people now presumed dead. The deaths came in boating and swimming accidents from Monterey to San Francisco. Rough and foggy seas caused four small boats, out for the opening day of the salmon fishing season, to capsize and, in a separate incident, two swimmers drowned.
