OCC to Play Host to Compton Tonight
Orange Coast College will need a victory tonight in order to keep its Shaughnessy playoff hopes alive when the Pirates play host to Compton in a South Coast Conference basketball game at 7:30.
The top five finishers in the SCC qualify for postseason play, and the Pirates (7-6 in conference and 16-11 overall) are currently in fourth. But Orange Coast will be hard pressed to stay in fourth place because their final conference games after tonight will be against first place Cerritos and Mt. San Antonio.
The Pirates are coming off a, 64-48, win over Santa Ana Saturday. Compton (5-7, 10-13) lost to Cerritos Saturday, 75-65.
In other SCC games tonight:
Mt. San Antonio (10-2, 23-3) is at Cerritos (12-1, 21-4), Golden West (0-13, 7-19) is at Fullerton (9-3, 15-10) and Santa Ana (2-10, 10-15) is at Cypress (6-6, 12-10).
