W. Simi Christian Ousted
Taylor Kersten and Ray Hesser combined for 43 points Friday night as Covenant Faith beat West Simi Christian School 45-42 in double overtime in a Christian School Athletic Conference playoff game in Simi Valley.
Kersten led all scorers with 30 points, while Hesser added 13 as Covenant Faith, 9-3 overall, outscored West Simi 5-2 in the second overtime period. The game was tied, 36-36, at the end of regulation and 40-40 after the first overtime period.
West Simi, 13-5 overall, had a chance to win the game in the first overtime, but Glen McLuckie, who scored 17 points, missed the front end of a pair of one-and-one opportunities in the last two minutes.
