N. Zealand Nuclear Ban Backed

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Nearly 2,000 nuclear protesters massed outside Parliament today to support the Labor government’s ban on nuclear warships visiting New Zealand’s ports.
Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Palmer welcomed the crowd, saying it was not often large demonstrations were held outside Parliament in support of the government. He said the demonstrators were supporting “a moral issue of great importance to the future of this planet.â€
