The Golden Door Beauty Resort, closed Feb. 3 by a $1.5-million fire in its dining room and offices, will open Monday, but its guests will be housed at another resort about five miles away, management for the exclusive beauty and health spa announced Saturday. Owner Deborah Szekely said she has arranged for her staff of 128 to continue the beauty and exercise business for the next six months at the Bavarian Inn, which was up for rent after declaring bankruptcy Jan. 21. As an inducement for people to keep their reservations with the Golden Door, Szekely said she will allow guests at the inn to stay for a couple of days free before paying the $2,250 a week. Before the fire, a week at the Golden Door was $2,675 a week.
