A federal judge in New York issued a March 1 deadline for three groups who claimed that they were not notified in sufficient time to meet the Jan. 31 cutoff date for filing asbestos-related property damage claims against Denver-based Manville Corp. Judge Burton Lifland granted the three-week extension to the Los Angeles district attorney’s office on behalf of Los Angeles County property owners, a group of 500 hospitals represented by a Century City-based law firm and the National Assn. of Counties.
