NOMINEES FOR FILM AWARDS
Five films are in the running for best picture in RKO Television’s 20th annual “Your Choice for the Film Awards,†to be telecast March 23 on KHJ-TV Channel 9.
Selected by a panel of 10 national film critics were “Amadeus,†“The Killing Fields,†“Mrs. Soffel,†“A Passage to India†and “Places in the Heart.â€
Nominated in the best actor category are F. Murray Abraham (“Amadeusâ€), Albert Finney (“Under the Volcanoâ€), Steve Martin (“All of Meâ€), Harry Dean Stanton (“Paris, Texasâ€) and Robin Williams (“Moscow on the Hudsonâ€).
Best actress nominees are Anne Bancroft (“Garbo Talksâ€), Sally Field (“Places in the Heartâ€), Diane Keaton (“Mrs. Soffelâ€), Vanessa Redgrave (“The Bostoniansâ€) and Lesley Ann Warren (“Choose Meâ€).
Nominations were also made in supporting actor and actress categories and for best score.
Winners will be voted on by the public on ballots that will appear in various TV supplements.
James Brolin and Mariette Hartley will host the awards telecast, which will be seen from 8-10 p.m. March 23, and then repeated from 6-8 p.m. March 24.
