Anthropology Award for Caltech Professor
Thayer Scudder, professor of anthropology at Caltech, has been named recipient of the American Anthropological Assn’s Solon T. Kimball Award for public and applied anthropology.
Scudder was recognized for his long-term studies of the effects of relocation on the Gwembe Tonga people of Zambia and Zimbabwe in Africa, duringwhich he collected data for examining the social consequences of forced resettlement in other parts of the world.
