A memorial service for community activists James and Agnes Moss of Rancho Palos Verdes, who were killed in an auto accident last Saturday in Northern California, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Norris Community Theatre in Rolling Hills Estates.

Mrs. Moss, 63, was instrumental in helping build the 450-seat theater, which opened in late 1983. From 1978 to 1984, she served as president of the Community Assn. of the Peninsula and in 1984 she was honored as Citizen of the Year by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Moss, 73, was a pioneer researcher of ocean agriculture and a world-renowned authority on seaweed. He founded and served as president of Agro-Mar, a consulting firm for ocean agriculture. He was the president-elect of the International Seaweed Symposium at the time of his death.
