Cop Killer Executed as Victim’s Dad Watches

STARKE, Fla. — James David Raulerson died in Florida’s electric chair today for killing a policeman in a 1975 gun battle, his execution witnessed by the victim’s father, who had longed for years “to see the day they pull the switch.â€
Raulerson, 33, was convicted of shooting to death policeman Michael Stewart, 23, during a robbery at a Jacksonville restaurant. Stewart’s father, Jack, was among the witnesses when Raulerson was pronounced dead at 7:11 a.m.
