Associated Press
READING, Pa. — Flames “spreading like wild†flashed through a downtown YMCA early today in a blaze of suspicious origin that routed more than 100 people and killed at least four, including a firefighter trying to carry a victim to safety, officials said.
A man and woman were being questioned in connection with the fire, which swept through the first three floors of the six-story building being used as a shelter for the homeless, Police Chief Rodney Steffy said. More than a dozen people were taken to hospitals.
