Civic Committee Seats Open:The city is seeking applicants to fill three committees: housing, energy and environment, and parking, traffic and circulation. The energy and environment committee examines fuel conservation issues and other environmental concerns, such as recycling. The housing committee is involved with issues such as provisions for low-income, elderly residents. Interested residents should submit a letters and resumes outlining their background and reasons for wanting to join any of the committees. Applications must give address and phone number, and must be filed with the city clerk by Thursday. The City Council will interview applicants when it meets Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. in the City Council chambers, 505 Forest Ave. For more information, call 497-3311, Extension 209.
