Construction has begun on the $1-million restaurant portion, to be known as Th’eater, at the $14-million Theatre Center being developed at 514 S. Spring St, by the Los Angeles Actors’ Theatre, Bill Bushnell, artistic/producing director.
The center was designed by architect John Sergio Fischer. Th’eater was designed and is being developed by 514 South Inc., whose president is James Cooke, also the designer and co-owner of the First Street Bar & Grill in Claremont.
Th’eater will consist of a main dining room for 120 patrons, an outdoor terrace cafe, a 40-seat cabaret to be called the Cantine and a lobby bar. It will feature a contemporary menu, state-of-the-art lighting and design, and the most recent innovations in restaurant management technology, according to Cooke.
