Pitchers Steven Perez (Cleveland) and Angel Lerma (Marshall) continue to hang tough through five innings of the City Section Division I semifinal at USC. Cleveland has a 2-1 lead.
Lerma has retired eight consecutive hitters to keep Marshall within striking distance of No. 2-seeded Cleveland.
Cleveland Coach Greg Venger decided to put in ace Jack Hartman to start the sixth inning with a trip to Dodger Stadium on the line.
