Baseball: Cleveland takes over first place in West Valley League

With a little help from Granada Hills, Reseda Cleveland has taken over first place in the West Valley League with three games to go.
Jack Hartman had a no-hitter for 6 2/3 innings and settled for a one-hitter in Cleveland’s 4-0 victory over El Camino Real on Tuesday. He struck out nine. Matt del Mundo went two for two.
Granada Hills defeated Chatsworth, 2-1, in eight innings on a walk-off hit by Chad Richman. Ryan McBride went the distance for the Highlanders, who haven’t beaten Chatsworth in years.
Cleveland (19-9, 6-1) has a one-game lead over Chatsworth (5-2).
Hartman improved to 10-1 overall and lowered his ERA to 0.43.
Birmingham defeated Taft, 4-3. Steven Rothhammer had an RBI double.
