Boys’ basketball: Tustin leads 14-6 at halftime

The halftime score of tonight’s Southern Section 3AAA Division final is more what you might expect in a football game.

Neither team can buy a basket and as a result top-seeded Tustin leads sixth-seeded Royal, 14-6. In fact, at the end of the first quarter the score read more like a baseball game: 3-2 Tillers.

Both teams are playing hard and the good news for the Highlanders is that they are still in the game despite making only two of their 16 shots (12.5%).

Tustin isn’t much better, going 6-of-13 (26.1%). Deondre Bryant leads all scorers with five.
