Royal guard Max McCoy continued his hot shooting on the last day of the Oaks Christian tournament.

After scoring 19 points in the Highlanders’ semifinal defeat to Santa Monica, McCoy had 19 more in Royal’s 51-46 overtime defeat to Fresno Bullard in the third-place game. McCoy’s driving layup made it 39-39 with 22 seconds left in regulation and the Knights failed to score on their final possession.

After two free throws gave Bullard (10-1) a seven-point lead with four seconds left in overtime McCoy dribbled the length of the court for a layup at the buzzer for Royal’s final basket. Royal fell to 11-4.

Palisades held San Diego Lincoln to 12 points in the first half and won the seventh-place game, 75-31.

Senior forward Tyler Hildreth scored 18 points, Ryan Ford added 17 points and Louis Kurihara made five three-pointers for the Dolphins (9-5), who led 29-5 after the first quarter.
