Santa Barbara Bishop Diego (11-0), the No. 1 seed in the Northwest Division, has hired a lawyer to challenge a Southern Section sanction that bars the school from hosting any football playoff games this season as punishment for an alleged violation of undue influence rules.
Southern Section spokesman Thom Simmons said a letter has been received from a lawyer representing Bishop Diego.
The school was sanctioned over a flier promoting an admission event inviting eighth graders to attend activities and a homecoming football game in October, according to Presidiosports.com.
