It’s showdown time: Santa Margarita vs. St. Bonaventure

I know which game I’m going to on Friday night: No. 1-ranked Santa Margarita (4-0) vs. No. 4 Ventura St. Bonaventure (4-0) at 7 p.m. at Saddleback College.
Just to see St. Bonaventure Coach Todd Therrien try to match strategy against Santa Margarita Coach Harry Welch ought to be worth the price of admission.
Then there’s quarterback Johnny Stanton, the senior, vs. sophomore Ricky Town, and running back Ryan Wolpin vs. Zachary Green.
On Friday night, Wolpin set a school record with six touchdowns and rushed for 168 yards in a 72-0 win over Carson. Stanton completed 13 of 15 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns.
St. Bonaventure defeated Atasacdero, 56-25, with Green scoring three touchdowns.
St. Bonaventure owns a win over Corona Centennial, which knocked off Mission Hills Alemany. I’m sure Santa Margarita is thrilled to finally face a team that’s actually capable of beating them. It’s a needed game since the Trinity League will soon begin.
The Seraphs won’t be intimidated and won’t back down.
Please, someone save me a seat.
