Carson will be without first-year Coach Jimmy Nolan in its season opener against Long Beach Poly because he missed a mandatory City Section coaches’ meeting on June 9.
Head coaches at L.A. Jordan and Sun Valley also will have to sit out their season openers.
The head coach does not have to attend the meeting but schools must send a representative to the meeting or be subject to the punishment of the head coach missing the first game of the season.
Carson has one of the toughest schedules in Southern California, with additional games against Fresno Edison, Mater Dei, Santa Margarita, Corona Centennial and Narbonne.
