Khalfani Muhammad, the state sprint champion from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, is going to be making two trips to Europe this year.
The first one is coming next month when he runs for Puerto Rico in the IAAF World Junior Championships July 10-15 in Barcelona, Spain.
Then, at the end of August, Notre Dame’s football team travels to Ireland for a game against Chandler, Ariz. Hamilton, and Muhammad is the Knights’ standout running back.
‘He’s signed up with frequent flyer programs,’ his father, Malik, said.
Malik ran for Puerto Rico in the 1984 Olympic Games when he was known as Luis Morales.
Muhammad won state championships this month in the 100 and 200 as a junior.
