Boys’ basketball: Crenshaw stays unbeaten in Coliseum League

With its leading scorer, Brandon Baker, sidelined because of a possible concussion, Crenshaw was inconsistent at times Monday in a Coliseum League road game against Locke, but the Cougars stil had enough to prevail, 87-78.

Crenshaw (18-4, 8-0) received 18 points from Andre Edwards and strong guard play from Emmanuel Haggood.

Locke’s Daviyon Draper scored 23 points. The Saints (15-7, 5-3) fell behind by 15 points twice but kept fighting back and got as close as 83-78 with under 30 seconds left. The two schools play again on Friday at Crenshaw.

Palisades set up a Wednesday showdown for first place in the Western League against Fairfax with a 75-48 win over Venice. Donovan Johnson scored 21 points. Fairfax defeated University, 71-43. Reggie Theus Jr. had 13 points, Brendyn Taylor 11, Ronny Price and Taj Adams 10 apiece.
