Now that UCLA has hired a former Crenshaw High player, Eric Yarber, as its receivers coach who knows something about Los Angeles, maybe the Bruins can rectify the disaster they have suffered in recruiting at the receiver position.

For the last three recruiting years, there have been so many top receivers in Southern California that it’s pretty stunning how many players the Bruins have missed out on.

Remember the likes of Robert Woods, George Farmer and Marqise Lee from Gardena Serra, Nelson Spruce from Westlake, Richard Mullaney from Thousand Oaks, not to mention last season’s group of Bryce Treggs from St. John Bosco, Gabe Marks from Venice, Darreus Rogers from Carson and Jordan Payton from Oaks Christian.

Let’s just say there’s plenty of room for improvement from the Bruins.
