Second-year Coach Reggie Morris Jr. of Playa del Rey St. Bernard is putting together a team that won’t be afraid to face the best in Southern California.
St. Bernard has two highly regarded incoming freshmen in 6-foot-8 Brodricks Jones and 6-6 Chance Comanche to go along with returnees Brandon Randolph and Michael Garcia.
‘They have the potential to be very good,’ Morris said of the freshmen. ‘They’re fast learners.’
Morris came from Lawndale Leuzinger to St. Bernard when he lost his job during teacher cutbacks. There have been rumors about him returning to the public schools, but he said Monday, ‘I like where I am. I’m happy.’
