Boys’ basketball: Harvard connection is alive in state playoffs

Harvard University recruited two players from Southern California this season, and both are still playing in the state playoffs.
Harvard-bound Kenyatta Smith, a 6-foot-8 center, led Flintridge Prep to the Southern Section Division 5AA championship and has his team is seeded No. 2 in the Division V Southern California regionals. He averages 19.8 points and 14.8 rebounds.
Harvard-bound Wesley Saunders, a 6-6 forward, helped Los Angeles Windward reach the 4AA championship game. His team is seeded No. 2 in the Division IV tournament. He averages 20.3 points and 9.9 rebounds.
