There won’t be any national championships any time soon

Those hoping for a national championship in high school sports, forget it. Last week, the membership of the National Federation of State High School Associations rejected a proposal that would have allowed the NFHS to conduct national championships in golf and cross country.

That’s a re-affirmation of the organization’s long-time opposition to national championships for high school sports.
