Baseball: VIBL is switching to wood bats

The 30-team Valley Invitational Baseball League is switching to wood bats this summer, coaches were told at a meeting on Sunday.

With concern growing that a bill working its way through the State Legislature seeking a moratorium on metal bats might be passed, the coaches decided to try wood bats this summer to prepare in case the bill passes.
