After a 2-8 season last year and coaching turmoil, Compton Dominguez is back in the Western Division semifinals under long-time Coach Willie Donerson, who has been around off and on for 26 years.
The Dons (6-5) play at Mission Hills Alemany on Friday. Dominguez is back using its double wing offense, but also has added a spread attack on occasion.
Quarterback Chris Brown and running back Will Gregory have led the Dons’ resurgence, not to mention that Donerson came back last November to pick up the pieces of a struggling program.
‘It’s very fulfilling to me and the rest of the guys,’ Donerson said of Dominguez’s return to prominence.
