Football: Nixon scores again, Hueneme pulling away

Trashaun Nixon has six carries for 162 yards and two touchdowns in just over six minutes. Hueneme has used the Wildcat offense in the third quarter to keep Hart’s defense off balance and Nixon is taking advantage.

After bursting up the middle for 45 yards to the Indians’ 40-yard line, Nixon took a direct snap and broke three tackles on his way to a 32-yard score that has Hueneme ahead 23-7 midway through the third quarter of tonight’s Northern Division playoff opener at College of the Canyons.

Hart quarterback C.J. Reyes was intercepted on the next drive, but defensive end Justyn Eddins recovered a fumble at the Indians’ 44-yard line to give Hart the ball back with 2:31 left in the quarter.
