Girls’ golf: Westlake’s Kang wins regional

Westlake’s Danielle Kang defeated Burbank Burroughs’ Emily Tubert in a playoff today to win the CIF girls’ Northern individual regional golf tournament at the par-72 Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai.
Kang and Tubert each shot a four-under-par 68 prior to the playoff. Anaheim Canyon’s Jessica Vasilic shot a 70 and Brenna Carlson of Hart, Anne Cheng of Torrance, Elizabeth Doty of Palos Verdes and Hana Lee of Hacienda Heights Wilson each shot a 71.
The top 45 girls including ties advance to play in the CIF individual finals on Nov. 12 at Talega Golf Club in San Clemente.
