In a game that featured an interception, a fumble and a three-and-out, Moorpark and Newbury Park had trouble scoring for most of the first quarter.
That was until Musketeers tailback Austin Edmonson ran in for a two-yard touchdown at the 2:27 mark, capping a nine-play, 93-yard drive, and putting Moorpark ahead 7-0 after the extra point.
Newbury Park tailback Cameron Roberson finished the first quarter with three carries for just two yards.
