Saugus took a big step toward clinching third place in the Foothill League with a 3-0 victory over Newhall Hart.

Tommy Kister and Aaron Hooper combined on the shutout. Saugus is 11-9 overall and 7-4 in league. Hart is 11-10-1 and 5-6.
