Baseball: Cardona strikes out 12 for El Camino Real

Sophomore Jose Cardona struck out 12 and threw a one-hitter in Woodland Hills El Camino Real’s 6-0 West Valley League victory over Granada Hills on Friday.

Travis Keppel went three for four with a home run, and Michael Booth hit a home run for the Conquistadores (18-7, 6-4).

Chatsworth defeated Taft, 13-2, in five innings, with Carlos Escobar Jr. and Derek Neely each hitting two-run home runs. Kasey Toven had three hits and Andy Weissberg added two hits.
Reseda Cleveland defeated Birmingham, 13-2, in five innings.
