Former Santa Margarita quarterback Jon Daniels has signed with the University of Nebraska-Omaha and will be a junior entering the fall.
Daniels, who holds Santa Margarita records for career passing attempts (491), completions (286) and most completions in a game (26 versus Loyola in 2005), spent the last two seasons at College of DuPage (Ill.) and was a captain and all-conference player last season while leading the Chaparrals into the playoffs and the Graphic Edge Bowl.
Nebraska-Omaha is an NCAA Division II power that has been in the playoffs four consecutive seasons and eight of the past 13 years under Coach Pat Behrns.
