Football: Lakewood wins, 35-34

Servite attempted a two-point conversion after Lakewood was called for encroachment on an extra-point attempt in overtime, but Troy Nicolaus couldn’t catch Cody Fajardo’s pass and Lakewood escaped with a 35-34 victory.

Nicolaus had just caught a one-yard touchdown pass from Fajardo with 23 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

Jerry Stone scored on a 16-yard run in overtime for Lakewood and Greg Portis scored on a 25-yard run for Servite.
