It was an official announcement Los Osos’ Richard Brehaut and Mission Viejo’s Allan Bridgford had been patiently waiting for. And Wednesday afternoon, both finally learned they were selected to represent the Southland at the Elite 11 quarterback camp, an annual gathering of the top signal callers from across the country.
The event takes place July 21 to 24 at Soka University in Aliso Viejo, and Brehaut and Bridgford will showcase their skills by competing in various drills. The senior tandem will also receive instruction from Division I guys such as Missouri’s Chase Daniel, Purdue’s Curtis Painter and USC’s Mark Sanchez.
Bridgford made national headlines when he committed to Cal in early May. Less than three weeks later, Brehaut opened some eyes when UCLA offered a scholarship to him and he quickly accepted. Can’t wait to see how the duo fares against some of the premier passers around. Click here for a list of everyone expected to attend.
