Well, even though he’s leaving for Florida next week to be part of ESPN’s amateur baseball draft coverage, Long Beach Wilson’s Aaron Hicks will not be tossing a no-hitter in tonight’s Southern Section-Toyota Division I championship game.

The man with the 95-mph fastball is projected to go in the first round of the draft, but that didn’t prevent Simi Valley’s Brent Keys to get a single off him to leadoff the game. However, Keys was left stranded at third and both teams remain locked in a scoreless tie heading into the second inning.

Simi Valley starter Drew Sandler (6-3) retired the Bruins in order in the bottom half of the inning.
