Softball: Norco finally breaks the deadlock against Rodino in eighth

Third-seeded (make that fourth-seeded) Norco finally broke through against Hart pitcher Destiny Rodino in the top of the eighth inning. Nicole Sappingfield blooped a single to center field, and then it bounced 20 feet away from hard-charging fielder Devon Lindvall which allowed Sappingfield to reach second base. She took third on a grounder to first, and scored on Brianna Smith’s grounder to shortstop.

It’s 1-0 going into the bottom of the eighth of this Southern Section-Toyota Division I quarterfinal.
