Boys’ volleyball: Corona del Mar sets the tone early on

Well, we’re under way here at Wednesday’s Southern Section-Toyota Division II playoff game between Corona del Mar and Santa Barbara and it appears as if the Sea Kings are determined to make a statement, having jumped to an early lead, winning the first game, 25-16.

Jeff Carlson has three kills thus far for Corona del Mar. Santa Barbara has struggled to mount much of an offense because of the imposing net presence of Sea Kings Dylan Davis and Gus Ellis, who stand 6-foot-8 and 6-6, respectively.
