Soccer: Crean Lutheran South chooses La Mirada coach

Crean Lutheran South has named Dennis Guerra to head its boys’ and girls’ soccer programs when the school begins its inaugural seasons in the Southern Section in 2008-09, according to Principal Jeffrey Beavers.

Guerra is the girls’ coach at La Mirada, where he has won three Suburban League titles in seven seasons, reached the section quarterfinals twice, semifinals once and championship game last season.

Guerra’s record at La Mirada was 127-48-18, and was named the Division III coach of the year.

‘The prospect to create a legacy from the beginning is very exciting,’ Guerra said.

Guerra will teach English on the Irvine campus.
