Baseball: Cole reaches 100 Ks for the season in first inning

Gerrit Cole didn’t waste any time. Orange Lutheran’s starting pitcher struck out the first two batters he faced on Thursday to notch his 99th and 100th strikeouts of the season.

Cole then helped his own cause with an run-scoring single in the bottom of the inning to give the Lancers a 1-0 lead over Riverside North after one inning in the first round of the Southern Section-Toyota baseball playoffs at Hart Park in Orange.
