Boys’ lacrosse: North Division pairings announced

Palos Verdes will be the top-seeded team for the North Division (Los Angeles/Ventura counties) boys’ lacrosse playoffs. The Sea Kings defeated Beverly Hills, 18-4, in Wednesday’s Bay League championship game to improve to 14-2 on the season.
North Division playoff action opens Saturday with a doubleheader at Beverly Hills. The host Normans (12-5) face Loyola (12-5) at 5 p.m., followed by Chaminade (11-3) vs. Downey (8-6) at 7:30.
The semifinals will be played Monday at Beverly Hills, with second-seeded Oak Park (12-4) facing the Chaminade/Downey winner at 5 p.m. and Palos Verdes taking on the Beverly Hills/Loyola winner at 7. The championship game is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Mira Costa.
The North Division champion will take on the Orange County champion at 7 p.m. on May 9 at Trabuco Hills for the unofficial Southern Section championship.
In Orange County, Foothill and St. Margaret’s advanced to Friday’s championship game with victories Wednesday. The top-seeded Knights defeated JSerra, 9-2, and the Tartans got by Corona del Mar, 9-5. The O.C. championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Trabuco Hills.
