Boys’ golf: It’s all about the medals for Huskies’ Joe “Bâ€

His name is Joe Boonnoppornkul, but I refer to him simply as Joe ‘B’ for reasons that should be self-explanatory. The last time I blogged about him I made two bold predictions: That his name would be spelled correctly at least once and that he would win the City Individual golf title before he graduates.
Now I know City finals are still more than a month away, but so far this spring Joe ‘B’ has been putting as confidently as Tiger Woods at Augusta.
The North Hollywood junior earned medalist honors again Wednesday with a sparkling five-under-par 67 at Woodley Lakes Golf Course in the Huskies’ 387-403 victory over 6A League rival Taft.
Joe ‘B’ was third at the City finals last spring, so it’s not as if he’s emerged out of the blue. However, if he keeps posting scores in the red, he’ll have plenty more medals around his neck by seasons’ end.
