Top-ranked Mater Dei rallies to beat No. 4 Santa Margarita

The top-ranked Mater Dei boy’s basketball team trailed fourth-ranked Santa Margarita by seven points entering the fourth quarter, but scored the first 17 points of the quarter and went on to win, 67-60, at Santa Margarita.
With the victory, the Monarchs (24-0, 8-0) clinched at least a tie for the Trinity League title.
David Wear scored 22 points, Gary Franklin had 17 points and Andy Brown added 16.
Santa Margarita (21-3, 6-2) made nine three-pointers and was led by Klay Thompson’s 19 points.
