King-Drew senior forward Timothy Thompson, who collapsed after his basketball team’s road game at Gardena, was released from the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance early Tuesday morning and returned home.
But Thompson is still undergoing tests to determine what caused him to slump into a teammate’s arm during a postgame address by Golden Eagles Coach Khary Hervey.
Hervey said he spoke with Thompson, who told Hervey he ‘felt sore’ but otherwise felt OK. But, Hervey added that until the cause of Thompson’s collapse is determined, he will not be cleared to play basketball.
‘Even if he had been cleared to play, I probably would have held him out until at least Friday,’ Hervey said. ‘His health is the most important thing.’
