The gymnasium lights flicked off. Time to go, I thought. As I exited, a man glanced back into the darkness. ‘I’m surprised DeMar’s not in there now, shooting 100 free throws,’ he said. ‘He’ll do that after games and practice.’
The man is Frank DeRozan, DeMar’s father.
Thirty minutes earlier, Compton beat Millikan, 86-60, and DeRozan scored an effortless 21 points, and, yeah, he served up his specialty -- three floor-shaking dunks. DeRozan left the hardwood as a couple little kids asked for his photo.
